Day Seventeen: We Built a City

6/28/13, 12:36 AM PDT

Doing a bit of late-night homework for my film. And by that, I mean I'm watching Casino Royale.

See, these are the perks of being a filmmaker. Homework? Watching movies. Sounds like a fantastic deal to me, what do you think?

Same day, 3:00 AM PDT

Finished Casino Royale. God, my head hurts. But it was a pretty good movie.

I'm going to bed.

Same day, 12:19 PM PDT

Sister's still sick. Mom's gonna take her to the doctor for a bit, so I have the house to myself for a bit.

So, I'm formally announcing Michael's house party 2k13. Bring anyone and everyone you know! There's gonna be beer pong, karaoke, guitar hero, gladiator fight pits, pin the tail on the amputated horse, lawn darts, the roast of Abraham Lincoln, and other classic party events. Order now!

...Or, I could just write and do nothing all day. That's plausible too.

God, you know my summer's becoming less and less interesting when I have to write about a fictitious house party to try and spice things up. Please come faster, film camp!

Same day, 7:04 PM PDT

Minecraft with the Skype Group, sans Brandon. We decided to play survival with a gun plugin since normal survival was too easy.

We quickly found a village in the middle of a grassland area and we swore to ourselves that we would protect the village and its inhabitants at all costs. So we went pretty smoothly the first day. Got basic supplies, started a chicken farm, and decided to live amongst the villagers come nightfall.

Love my chicken farm.

We could not believe how ridiculously hard it was to protect.

So apparently, I set the difficulty on Hard. And the gradient between the two was INCREDIBLE. There were a ridiculous amount of mobs EVERYWHERE. Spiders crawling on the rooves, creepers exploding left and right, god damn SPIDER JOCKEY waited right outside of our house to kill us.

A 1% chance of happening. And it happens the first night.

There were a ton of villagers huddled in one house and we tried to protect that area, but zombies were quickly breaking in, so we had no choice but to leave and kill the zombies. We succeeded.

But the creeper got us. It blew up and took out a chunk of the house where all of the villagers were clustered together. A few of them got out. And by a few, I mean all of them.

By the night's end, we lost 60% of our villagers.

And that was only our first night.

Sure, we got a bit better as the days passed, but every night was still hellish. We didn't have beds and we lost a lot of resources because Kayla decided to build a fancy house right out of the bat even though we had next to nothing. But we managed.

I think. I left the server running while my parents and I head to Coronado to eat at a fancy restaurant for my parents' anniversary.

Same day, 7:40 PM PDT

Coronado. Oh, so pretty.

Thanks, sign!

Downtown San Diego skyline. If I were a hipster, I'd be all over
this picture.

This one too. #nofilter

Skyline/pier. Beach up in there too. So pretty.

Also, wearing my Doctor Who shirt. A girl about eight or nine years old commented, saying that she liked my shirt, which was pretty awesome. She looked suspiciously like Amy Pond as a child. Red hair, blue eyes. Hell, maybe it was the actress?

Nah, probably not. This is America, not England.

Also, gotta learn how to take a complement since I don't get them often. Since it was so sudden, I kind of just nodded and gave an expressionless "thank you." Remind me to at least smile next time, maybe lead into conversation.

Also, a fat guy riding a skateboard was wearing a backpack with speakers on it, blasting "I'm a Barbie Girl." Highlight of my day, right there.

Same day, 8:50 PM PDT

A WHOLE HOUR. NO FOOD. Hot damn.

I mean I know it's a fancy restaurant on a very busy night, but god dang, this food better he fantastic to be worth the hour long wait.

Same day, 11:00 PM PDT

FOOD. Well, it came at 9:30, but WHATEVER. Sister was complaining about hunger, so she got her food first. I happily gorged myself on her French fries for a bit.

Then, my food came. New York steak with garlic mashed potatoes and onion rings. Mmmmmm. And pineapple juice too, awesome.

I'm stuffed. So very stuffed.

Oh, and there were fireworks too. Sweet. Happy anniversary, parents.

Yes, I paid for the fireworks. I'm that good of a son.

The water was amazingly still this night.

Same day, 11:47 PM PDT

WOW. The Skype group got BUSY while I was gone. They built a big ol' mansion next to the village!

Overhead shot of it all. Notice the cactus wall, courtesy of Kayla.

Mansion face. Dear god, it's beautiful.

One of my few modifications. Happens to be my favorite part of the
house.

But they let all of the villagers die. They failed to protect them. This was their only job and they failed. And now our hands are stained with the blood of the innocent.

So I made a graveyard to commemorate the fallen.

Kayla's paying respects to her fallen dog.

Yes, I took the time to edit every gravestone.

The gang's all here.

Day Sixteen: The Angry, Angry Sun

6/27/13, 8:36 AM PDT

Woo, sister's finally better, so finally woke up early to drop her off.

...And my brain feels like it's exploding. Running on four hours of sleep, but it's a necessary pain in my quest to fix my sleeping schedule.

Gonna go finish up the last episodes of Doctor Who, then it's off to scriptwriting. Aww yeah, almost caught up!

Same day, 3:40 PM PDT

Picked up my sister a few hours ago. Short day today, which meant that I had to leave house at noon to pick her up.

Noon.

During summer.

What I'm hinting at is that it was burning when I left house.

My house is ridiculously comfortable during summer because of insulation. It's freezing cold during winter in my house, but during summer, it's nice and temperate. Like a refrigerator.

So when I went outside, the wave of boiling air hit me. Hard. The school wasn't even half a mile from my house, but it felt like I trekked through six miles of Sahara to get there. It burned, and that's no exaggeration. When I left the house, I was probably as pale as an antisocial vampire. Now?

I look like I was left in the oven for too long. No joke, in the few minutes I left my home, not only did I manage to get tanner, but steam actually started coming out of my body due to the sheer temperature difference when I stepped back home.

Oh sun, you crazy, crazy devil.

Anyway, pretty lazy day so far. Apparently, I had a lot more episodes of Doctor Who left to watch than I thought, so I've a lot of work to do.

Same day, 6:14 PM PDT

My sister's open house/faire was today. My sister and I were on our way when she complained that her stomach hurts, so we decided not to go.

Poor Megan. She's really disappointed that she couldn't go. Damn you, disease, you cause nothing but trouble.

And it looked surprisingly awesome too. I took a look at the plans and they had a scavenger hunt and a cultural exhibition planned. There were also a bunch of food stands and ice cream trailers. Dang it, this could've been an interesting entry but now it's all boring because I didn't go.

I'm gonna find that disease. And I'm gonna kick the holy loving snot out of it. With toe kicks.

Same day, 9:25 PM PDT

Scriptwriting. It's turning out to be pretty flackin' good. Still not gonna go too in-depth with the plot, but hell, if you're reading this and you're interested in a role, write in my Tumblr ask box that you'd like to help along with the best way to contact you. Gonna be needing a person to play a secret agent, a bad guy, and a helluvalot of guards that get murdered by the agent. Roles may be expanded depending on the direction I want to take the script though, so I might have more parts if you check in the future!

RFotD: Panda bears have an extra “thumb” (which is actually an extra-large wrist bone) just for holding onto bamboo stalks.

SGAT: Wrote a bit more of my script.

Dae Fifteen: Broken Glass and Facebook Pasts

6/26/13, 11:39 AM PDT

New story's up! A Dae With Daehyun, the requested fanfic involving Daehyun from B.A.P. Read it here if your so desires.

Woke up a bit late again, but pretty early compared to previous nights. Deciding to take my movie way more seriously now, starting with a late-night, roid-fueled writing session at 1AM last night. Got the majority of the intro written, just have to convert it into a script.

Woo, I'm in the rhythm now. Here I come, movie script!

Same day, 1:44 PM PDT

HAH! Christina posted on Twitter that her favorite restaurant was "Buca di Beppo" because of a scene in my story and the restaurant's PR ACTUALLY REPLIED. LOOK AT IT.

If only you knew the underlying meaning, Buca di Beppo. If only you knew.

Anyway, I lied, back to Doctor Who because it's just SO DAMN ADDICTING. Only have seven episodes left before I catch up, almost there! After two, I'll get back to writing, promise! If not, you can punch me in the jugular repeatedly.

Same day, 3:29 PM PDT

Got invited to Yogurtland with Samantha, Jeffrey, Jordan, David, Jena, and a girl I didn't know named Rae. Was supposed to be for planning Creative Writing Club activities next year, but quickly deviated to Pokémon and Nintendo. Tested Samantha to see if she could name ten Pokémon. She barely pulled it off, saying she only knew "the cute ones," which apparently includes Ditto and Magmar.

Also, they had this in the front.

Guess which one I voted for.

Next, we went to GameStop. On the way, Jordan and I had a very interesting discussion on how badly we'd get owned if we ever took part in a Brawl tournament. He says he'd do pretty decently, but I know that I'd get DESTROYED if I ever participated in one.

Looked around GameStop, called ourselves "hardcore gamers" because we played Despicable Me The Game and other shovelware. Samantha got a group hug when she left and now I'm walking home in the sweltering heat of the summer sun.

It burns.

Same day, 6:43 PM PDT

More Doctor Who. Seventh season now. Oh my GOD, CLARA'S SO CUTE. AAAAAAAAAGH. Kevin, you were right, she's THE BEST.

COME ON, SEASON SEVEN, HURRY UP AND START AGAIN SO I CAN SEE MORE OF CLARA.

Same day, 8:53 PM PDT

Chores. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind doing them. I'm fine with washing dishes, cleaning up, whatnot.

But I don't like my dad's domineering tone when he tells me to do chores. I don't know, maybe it's just me and I'm exaggerating, but every time he tells me to do chores, his tone just makes me feel like a slave. I mean when my mom asks, I'm perfectly fine, but dad... not so much.

But hey, maybe I'm just overreacting. I am a bit pissed off right now, might explain that. Just need to calm down.

Oh, speaking of chores, as I was putting the cups back in the cupboard, one fell out and shattered everywhere. Have a small gash in my right arm. Seeing how long it takes until dad notices. Not as a test, just curious. I mean, the cup did shatter right in front of me and the first thing he asked was for me to clean it up.

Just observations.

Same day, 10:14 PM PDT

OH GOD. The Skype Group dug up posts from Facebook past, most notably mine. AGH, the redness of my face is indescribable, the embarrassment is flooding back. Did you know I used to use "^_^" and "T_T" regularly? Jesus, I was a disgrace. Actually, we all were, evident by all of our cringing

AND I USED TO SHOW ACTIONS WITH ASTERISKS. Things like *angrily* or *bashes a computer against your head* or *quietly weeps*. OH MY GOD, I WAS SUCH A SPAZ GUYS AMIRITE?

Wait a second...

RFotD: Each year, Americans throw out enough soda pop cans bottles to reach to the moon and back twenty times.

Day Fourteen: The Return of Lasagna

6/25/13, 1:32 AM PDT

Up late planning out Christina's fanfic. Don't want it to be too long, so I condensed a lot of my original ideas and clipped out the fat.

Rrrrrrgh, what is this now, the fifth day straight that I've slept past one? Gotta fix that. Late-night Internet surfing's not good for my little ol' heart.

Same day, 2:12 PM PDT

Woke up ridiculously late. Noon. Ate breakfast, cereal. Or is it lunch at this point? Brunch? I don't know. I know that my biological clock must be going crazy now though.

Sister's still sick. Poor Megan. Please get better so I can start waking up at 7 again.

Anyway, now writing Christina's story. Back in a bit.

Same day, 8:24 PM PDT

A lot of writing, with minimal procrastination. Almost done with the story and wow, is it the most ridiculous thing I've ever written. Of course, I've had to do a lot of research on Kpop figures, a lot more than I'd like to admit.

Had lasagna and garlic bread for dinner. Dear god, I haven't had lasagna in months, I miss it so much. If you're interested, lasagna probably ranks second on my favorite foods list, right below the undisputed champion, the mango.

Hmm... since I haven't had lasagna in awhile and I've been slipping in the witty titles to blog posts, maybe I'll title today "The Return of Lasagna"?

Sounds good.

Same day, 11:26 PM PDT

Finished the story. Wow, is it the most ridiculous thing I've ever written. It's plenty funny, but... wow.

It's actually indescribable in words. And I'm an amateur author.

Also, my apologies if Tuesday updates are quite thin in terms of reading material. Tuesdays are typically when I finish my weekly stories, so I don't focus as much on this blog.

But I'll try to do interesting things in the morning so my beloved readers are entertained. Don't worry, dears!

RFotD: You can make lasagna in a dish washer by putting the ingredients together in a dish, cover the dish with aluminum foil, and run it on the heated dry and sanitize cycle.

SGAT: Wrote a story.

Day Thirteen: Cleaning Day

6/24/13, 1:08 PM PDT

Sister's a bit sick, so she didn't go to school today. Which means that I didn't wake up early to run today. Bummer.

Ah well, I'll go run on the treadmill for an hour or so later today.

Anyway, while walking to the kitchen for breakfast, I tripped on my backpack and almost died. But, like most near death experiences, I had an epiphany from it. I realized that my room was a pigsty. A jungle of wires, dust bunnies, and technology. If I didn't clean it soon, eventually a coyote'll be able to hide in the mess of my room undetected. And I don't really feel like dying from a coyote any time soon, so I cleaned it up.

Holy crap did I clean it up. Organized all of the loose papers I had, cleaned up the side desk beside my computer so I could actually access the laptops to my left, organized the wiring below my computer desk and labeled all of them, vacuumed and dusted, cleaned my bed, and threw out all the garbage.

Suddenly, my room looks like it's made of chrome. It's beautiful.

Time to write.

Same day, 5:21 PM PDT

Went for a jog. Six mph pace for half an hour, then a five minute cooldown. Getting better, getting better. I still sweat ridiculously though. Gallons at a time, and that's hardly even exaggerating. And I'm not even tired, or at least tired enough to warrant that much perspiration.

I did some research on sweating and apparently more fit people sweat more because their bodies are more conditioned to intense workouts.

Doesn't explain why I sometimes sweat when I'm in conversations with girls I like. Maybe my body's conditioned to awkward situations? Yeah, sounds about right.

Note to self, use caulk to plug pores in the relative future.

Same day, 11:42 PM PDT

JESUS. Finished Season Six of Doctor Who. DAMN IT. Barely got any work done on my stories.

I can see why procrastination's so addicting to everyone. Just so little work, so easy. But holy crap, do I feel guilty about wasting another day of summer when I could've been productive.

Okay, new plan. I'll speed-write this story, then I'll catch up to Doctor Who as soon as possible so that I have literally nothing to do the rest of summer.

Good plan. Good plan.

RFotD: Hippo’s sweat is red. Scientists have found that the red pigment in the hippo’s sweat not only acts as a protection from the sun, but also helps kill the bacteria that grow on their exteriors.

SGAT: None yet.

Day Twelve: Nothing Interesting Happens

6/23/13, 12:32 PM PDT

Woke up incredibly late. Was just that tired.

Man, my neck still hurts. Probably gonna take a few more days for the aches to go away. Auuuuuuuuuuuugh. It's so stiff, I can barely turn it 90 degrees either direction. My shoulders kind of hurt as well, probably because I tried to roll my way out of that but half-failed.

Ah well. It happens.

Anyway, the Dangan Ronpa English translation was released today, looking forward to playing that. As of now, it's currently downloading, so in the meantime, doing a bit of reading to pass the time. No, not books. Smogon University. I don't know, I just like reading about the Pokémon metagame without actually playing. Am I weird for doing that? Probably.

Same day, 3:01 PM PDT

Just watched the Duct Tape Canyon special on MythBusters. Parents really got into it too, especially when they rappelled down the cliff with a duct tape rope and built the duct tape/bubble wrap rafts. They've actually considered buying a million rolls of duct tape to store in the car in case anything horrible happens to us and we get stranded. Pretty sure they're big fans of MythBusters now. My work here is done.

Back to writing.

Same day, 9:24 PM PDT

Wow, well so much for writing.

Watched Pokémon Vietnamese Crystal with Christina on TogetherTube. If you don't know, Vietnamese Crystal's basically this bootleg version of Pokémon Crystal originally in Japanese, then translated to Chinese, then to Vietnamese, back to Japanese, and then English, or at least that's the backstory I heard a few years ago, might not be entirely accurate. Anyway, it's ridiculously funny because the translation is just awful. Later, the rest of the Skype group showed up, but they got bored of it real quick, so we watched other things.

After that, got into a Doctor Who marathon, almost finished up season six. Almost to the most recent episodes, baby. I promised Camille I'd finish all the episodes in two weeks, and I came pretty close. Two weeks, four months, just a few letters off, huh?

Same day, 11:35 PM PDT

Woo! Totally unproductive Sunday, first of the summer.

Not good. Not good at all. Curse you, Doctor Who, for being so addicting.

Alright. promise this time. Writing!

RFotD: Americans empty 2.5 million plastic water bottles an hour. Each one takes 500 years to decompose.

SGAT: Absolutely nothing. But I have started planning this week's story.

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Day Eleven: Del Mar Fair: The Sequel

6/22/13, 11:07 AM PDT

Owwwww. Ow, ow, ow, ow, my neck hurts. It's an indescribable pain, it's not searing or unbearable, but it's not exactly pleasant either. And it doesn't hurt to move it. I just can't move it as fast as before, nor can I turn my head as far. But it'll wear out eventually. This is the second time I've landed on my neck, and it's pretty similar to last time.

Maybe third time's the charm and I'll die the next time I land on my neck. Hopefully, I'm wrong, but just to be safe, I'll be taking it pretty easy during parkour from now on. Probably going to be limiting the number of flips I do because they're impractical in the real world.

Alright. Time to write now. Be back in a bit.

Same day, 1:43 PM PDT

So my computer blue screened on me, which reminded me to finally clean out the dust filters that clogged up the fans. Haven't done that in about five, six months? Even though Darren recommended that I clean it out once a month. I try to remember, but it's hard to stick to a schedule when I have so much to do.

Speaking of "so much to do", I better start my summer assignments soon, or at least planning out the reading/outline schedule. Plus, I have to get writing on this week's blog entry, have to start my new short film script, have to get supplies together to build the remote control car that I want to make, oh boy oh boy better get off video games and back to work.

Same day, 6:22 PM PDT

Getting really into writing my script. Got the basic outline down, just filling in a lot of the details. Also, looking up a bunch of intros/music in spy movies/games, notably the intro to Skyfall, Casino Royale,  and Snake Eater so that I get a feel of what spy music and Bond intros look like.

And yep, it's gonna be a spy movie. But don't take it too seriously, it's not meant to be dramatic, serious action. Trying to make it a bit outrageous. Plus, it'll be my first real short film, which means zero-budget. Gonna have to cut costs a bit, and by a bit, I mean gonna be pretty much using household materials since I have absolutely no money.

Or, I could get a job. Dad's been encouraging me to apply for a part-time job at Target, which I'm considering just to fund my film without pissing off my parents by straining their wallets.

Back to writing. Wait no. I lied. Headed to the Del Mar Fair again so my family can watch Big Time Rush perform live while I roam the fair again. Awwww yeah.

Same day, 8:15 PM PDT

Fair again. Pretty much all by myself since the family's watching the concert. Seeing as I'm incredibly thrifty, I've decided not to spend any money and instead just people watch, which in itself is plenty interesting. Noticing the kinds of people that hang around each area. Obviously, the majority of teenagers spend their time where the rides are, with a small handful near the food stands. Female teenagers especially, I've noticed near the photo booth, although there's a bit of diversity there too. Adults, they're a bit more varied, but I've noticed that the "tougher looking" adults with wifebeaters and tattoos are usually around the games areas, with their wives and girlfriends. The more "average" adults are pretty varied in terms of location. The men tend to be near food or occasionally shops, while the women tend to be around shops mostly. Not stereotyping, just an observation.

Group and couple interaction's interesting as well. All-male groups of three or more are all around the rides, obviously. Haven't noticed any male groups any place else. Mixed groups too, mostly around the rides, but I saw one around the shop area. Female groups... They're everywhere. Couples are interesting too. Teenage couples, just like in school, tend to hold hands while staying as far apart as physically possible, maybe to further showcase that they're in a relationship. Adults are closer together when holding hands.

I've also noticed that while roaming the area, not a single games stand employee approached me to try their games. Maybe because I was alone, maybe because I look like a serial killer, not sure which. Speaking of looking like a murderer, I've noticed that the guard at the center of the fair's been looking at me suspiciously. Then again, I circled that guy like 50 times, so he probably thinks I'm a pickpocket or something. Don't know why since I look like the nerdiest thing ever with my half-bowl cut hair, my cloth shoulder bag, and my "Dunder Mifflin" shirt, but hey, criminals come in all shapes and sizes.

Haven't made my way to the kid area yet in the center of the racetrack, so I will be there shortly. After buying some food, probably.

Same day, 8:54 PM PDT

Rode the skyride thingy that goes over the entire park. Alone. Even though I have a fear of heights.

It was surprisingly relaxing, even though I was dangling my feet in the air. Took a bunch of pictures. One girl looked back up at me as I took a picture of the fair below me, which was pretty awkward. God, I'm brimming with awkwardness.

See her? A bit below and to the right of the center of the picture,
next to the stroller, looking right at me? Yep. Awkward.

Anyway, visited the children's area. One word describes it all.

Asian. Asian kids, followed by Asian parents EVERYWHERE. Of course, I'm not complaining, but WOW. The density of it surprised me.

ASIAN. ALL OF IT. Not complaining, of course.

Now currently in the arcade area of the fair, or whatever you call the main room. It's filled with board and video game, and TV game show info, along with a handful of arcade games. They had an auction corner where they were selling off a bunch of guitars signed by people that performed last year.

Switchfoot and Cobra Starship's somewhere there too.

One was signed by Cody Simpson, which may or may not interest a few of you. I probably know who you are if you're willing to bid on such an item.

Current bid? 400 dollars.

A group of people were playing giant Jenga, which was ridiculously entertaining, especially with commentary from black people. I managed to catch the game during its last few turns, where the majority of the tower was already a wireframe in essence. A lady managed to pull out a block after 15 minutes of Jenga setup, which was ridiculously tense. She pulled it out and the crowd cheered in celebration. The black people gave a huge "Boo-yah!" which cracked me up.

Lady in question. Note the black guy to the
left of her in the maroon shirt.

Then, the next guy went. He was in a very, very tight spot. Half the tower was balancing on one center block, he'd have to be a master Jenga player (Jengaer? Jengær?) to top that.

Of course, he wasn't. And it tipped over. But not after 3 minutes of hilarious black guy commentary. They were easily the loudest people in the crowd that gathered to watch this giant Jenga game, but every time people laughed, they shushed them forcefully, which was ridiculously funny.

Also, guy gave me two tickets on my way out of the thing. Don't know what I can ride with two tickets, but whatever, free stuff is free.

Same day, 9:42 PM PDT

Bought some food. Cheeseburger from Grantburger. It was decent, but incredibly hot. Like scalding hot, I've never had a burger burn my tongue before today.

Sat alone at a picnic table while eating, which was interesting because every other table was stuffed to the gills. But I'm not complaining, it was pretty peaceful.

Then, went around to go look for the cheapest drink around. Decided to buy it at this fish and chips stand, which sold bread bowls with soup. Reminds me of Panera and how Kayla tried to sneak it in.

Back on topic, the drink. It was a three dollar drink. Wait, no. No it wasn't. Let me rephrase that, it was a three dollar cup of ice. Because I only got three sips out of that cup before I hit ice. I mean come on, you fair food sellers already pull outrageous prices on the most ridiculous meals and you make thousands of dollars in profit every year, yet you still have to resort to scamming people with ice cups?

DAMN IT, I'M STILL THIRSTY.

You sicken me. You sicken me like the probably undercooked burger that I just ate, because I'm feeling a bit sick to my stomach and the California Health Inspection didn't exactly review your stand, Grantburger, if that's even your real name.

Same day, 10:18 PM PDT

What is this now, the third hour of roaming the fair? Pretty tired. And there's still no sign of the concert being over.

Now looking at the less visited areas of the mall. Just looked at their mineral and gem exhibit. Asked one of the exhibitors a bunch of questions on gem purity, hardness, and techniques of how they cut gems because why not, I mean more knowledge, right? Turns out, the guy gave me a mini-lesson on how to cut gems with a machine thing, which was pretty cool.

Phone's pretty low on battery now. Gonna go explore some more while using my backup battery, I guess.

Same day, 11:01 PM PDT

Went to the Student Showcase in the fair as they finally left the concert. They had some very nice artwork on display.

Ooh, pretty.

This one was my favorite though.

Who's that Pokémon?

They also had what I think is the winning robot from the FIRST Robotics tournament they had this year, which I took part in last year. Well, somewhat. I kind of did CAD designs, helped out in judging the website, and wrote two blog posts for the site, but other than that, I didn't do much.

Hello, Frisbeebot.

Oh, and apparently, they have a bunch of yearbooks on display and gave them all rankings. Did you know we were second place? Well, technically, second place but tied with a hell of a lot of other schools.

Not bad, huh?

This is one of the schools we tied with.

HOLY CRAP, THERE'S A GODDAMN WOLF ON THE COVER.

And then there's Scripps.

I don't know how Scripps Ranch's yearbook beat ours, I believe that our yearbook was superior in every aspect.

Well... maybe the font change on the "H" was a little strange. But that's a minor complaint.

Also, bwahahaha, my Scripps friends, I know what your yearbook photos look like.

Same day, 11:45 PM PDT

Finally in the car, headed home. Traffic's slow to a crawl, so I'm taking the time to update this.

Reached 11,628 steps today, which is pretty good.

Wooper's feelin' pretty good right now.

Also, apparently maxed out my Watts in the Pokéwalker, probably because I haven't sent Wooper to the DS in years.

Probably should go do that now.

Also, dad says I should have gone to the concert because quote "there were a million hot chicks up in this." How the hell my dad picked up that vocabulary, I'm not sure. But it led to a conversation on what I'm looking for in a girl, which I hate talking about with my parents because they judge me harshly about being "too picky." I'm sorry if I have high standards because I take dating seriously, mom and dad.

But they did bring up a point. I haven't dated anyone since high school started and I'm already a Junior. Maybe I should try to get a girlfriend now. Maybe.

So, anyone interested in dating me? Send in your application via Facebook, complete with resume, past job experience, and an essay describing why you want to be my girlfriend (500 words maximum). Many will enter, few will win, valid only to citizens or permanent residents of the United States and its territories.

HAH. Just kidding. As if I'd be selective enough to need applications for someone to be my girlfriend and to have geographical restrictions. I'm not selective at all. In fact, the more appropriate term would probably be "desperate." Haha, yes indeed.

*quietly weeps*

"Don't worry, Michael. I'll always be here for you."

Aww, thanks, robot frisbee thrower.

RFotD: Online dating research reveals that women are most concerned about a potential partner’s height, while men are more concerned about the weight of a possible date. Men even just an inch under the average height and women more than 20 pounds overweight have a tougher time getting a date. Well damn it.

SGAT: None really.
